Introduction

The Over Land Rover Group is an informal group with a variety of professions and age range - park rangers, computer and communications experts, printers, landscape gardeners, plumbers, managers etc., and their families - most using their Land Rovers as a means of daily transport. Our aim is to give like-minded people the opportunity to get together, pool our resources and knowledge, help each other out and at the same time make many new friends.

History

In June 1995 Angie and Dave Pople bought an old Series III LWB Land Rover in need of at least some cosmetic surgery. They looked for other Land Rover owners and the only Club they could find entailed a lengthy round trip. The only answer was to form a group themselves.

This they did in October 1995, based in Over, a medium sized Fenland village about 9 miles north west of Cambridge. There were eight people at the first pub meet in the village local. New members were found by leaving small flyers on likely looking Land Rover windscreens giving details of the Group - where and when etc., and the group grew to more than forty members, whose vehicles cover the whole range from brand new to those still sitting in garages/barns awaiting restoration.
